A storm system stalled just east of Jacksonville, Illinois last night and dumped more than four inches of rain here in Morgan County. Flash flooding occurred all along the Town Brook, levels that hadn’t been seen since the 1970s (JJC story).

I jumped on my scooter and went along the Town Brook to document the flooding . . .

Our prayers go out to people impacted by the flooding. We hope that long-term flood-prone areas along the Town Brook can be incorporated into a linear park for all to enjoy. Keep development out of flood-prone areas, create a recreational area along the brook to use the land in dry times, and prepare for added water flows from potential development west of Jacksonville.
